About Hooktonic
HookTonic is a British American singer, songwriter, and composer known for her versatile musical style. This multi-genre artist has a track record of successful collaborations, including work with EDM/House group Aural Imagery, hip-hop artist Forum, and the funk ensemble Sugardaddy. Her dynamic performances have graced events such as Delandapalooza, Ormond Beach Music Festival, Cutting Edge Music Conference and Battle of the Bands.
The name HookTonic has multiple meanings. It first references the "Hook" and "Tonic Note" of a song. It is also an homage to her home in the Virgin Islands where the "Hook" bracelet originated and "Tonic" is good for the soul. Lastly, It is a clever play on words, that when heard mimics the phrase "hooked on it." Her music blends rhythmic, beat-driven foundations with captivating bass lines, melodious hooks, ethereal harmonies, and reflective lyrics, offering a truly immersive listening experience.
Her debut album, "The Genredote," released in November 2017, showcased an inventive mix of EDM, soul, and reggae. The track "Body" climbed to the #1 spot on the ReverbNation EDM charts, maintaining a leading position both locally and regionally for several months. Building on this momentum, HookTonic released the single "Pressure" in January 2020 from their second album, "Awake," which followed in February of the same year. This album featured several tracks that caught the attention of ReverbNation curators and further established HookTonic's unique sound. Her third full length project "Davina Divine" was released in February 2022.
Her most recent release "Heart and Soul" is currently out on all platforms and she is currently immersed in producing her next single, set for release later this year, continuing to innovate and captivate audiences everywhere.
